I am an artist, I have been working On some rough outlines of drawing books to sell, and some online comics to create, so I can get a website up and running.
I currently have a job that gets me $40,000 a year.
I save about $1,000 a month.

it's not going to happen fast - steady savings and investment
if your company has a 401k plan, contribute to it - especially if they have company match - that's FREE money get up to the maximum for max match asap - it;s usually 6% of your salary
if no 401k plan - start an IRA and max that out every yr -($5000/yr for your age) - continue to save a 6-12 month emergency fund and then you can start saving for house, next car, etc
